To acquire knowledge of the underlying mathematical theory to solve advanced problems in differential equations. |

|
Phase plane and stability, Poincare-Bendixon theorem, limit cycles, Lyapunov functions. Basic PDE’s: the Laplace equation, the wave equation and the heat equation. Canonical forms of PDE’s. Methods of solutions: basic separation of variables, method of characteristics, Green’s function. Application to problems arising in mathematical physics. |
